We’d all love to see a flat, toned abdomen when we look in the mirror, but sometimes bulging fat or extra skin in the midsection can prevent us from enjoying this reality. If this sounds like you, Dr. Fisher is here to help.
What type of anesthesia will be used?
A tummy tuck is performed under general anesthesia, so you’ll be fully asleep during the procedure. You’ll wake up and rest for a bit in our recovery room, before being able to return home (with a friend to drive you).
Can the tummy tuck be combined with other procedures?
It absolutely can. A tummy tuck is often included as part of a mommy makeover procedure, and it can also be combined with liposuction for truly enhanced results.
What kind of scarring will I have?
Dr. Fisher works to create incisions that are well hidden by your underwear or bathing suit. The goal is to create elegant and naturalistic results that never make it apparent that cosmetic work has been done. During your consultation, Dr. Fisher will carefully explain your incision placement to you, so you’ll know exactly what to expect after your procedure is complete.
How long until I can exercise or do yoga?
Most patients need to wait at least six to eight weeks before resuming their exercise routines. Yoga similarly strains the abdominal muscles, so it’s important to wait a similar amount of time before this activity is resumed. During your consultation, you’ll be able to thoroughly explore your recovery timeline with Dr. Fisher, and he’ll advise you on when you can resume any specific activities.
